WHY NOT PRESSURE WASH?
Pressure washing will damage your roof! The high pressure
needed to give your roof that ”Like new look” causes
two significant problems. (1) It strips away the surface of the
shingles, making them thinner and more prone to weather damage.
(2) It causes stress fractures in the roof shingles, which will
develop into cracks and splits over time.

HOW DOES ROOF GUARD WORK?
The rain and sun, the cold and warm
weather activates this roof treatment, causing it to cycle between
a liquid and a crystal. This process dislodges debris from the surface
and with each rain cleans the roof! Although results may vary, full
cleaning effect is attained in 3 to 6 months. It’s almost as
effective as cleaning with a pressure washer, but much gentler!
CEDAR SHAKE AND SHINGLE
ROOF GUARD combined with a gentle air cleaning is the best
way to clean, preserve, and extend the life of your roof. Over
several years, ROOF GUARD will significantly reduce decomposition
and weathering damage to cedar. Although actual results may vary,
we estimate that one application of ROOF GUARD will extend
the remaining life of the cedar shakes and shingles by up to Fifty
Percent! Two treatments may double the remaining life.
ROOF GUARD reduces moisture penetration
into the cedar, but still allows your shakes and shingles to breathe.
This reduces dry rotting, cupping and warping.
ROOF GUARD strengthens shakes and shingles
by forming crystal around the fibers of the wood. Areas that were
soft to touch will be much firmer.
ROOF GUARD is not flammable, unlike the
oil and resin based treatments. This is very important during
the dry summer months, especially on the Fourth of July!
Roughly six months after application of ROOF
GUARD, the cedar will have a light silvery gray appearance.
